Historic Registration Renewal Process

For Citroen Car Club of NSW the process for advising the historic plates registrar of your vehicle's registration renewal and then receiving your new Historic Vehicle Declaration form has been simplified. This information only applies to renewals of existing historic plate registered vehicles, not new historic registrations

Unlike previous years where you needed to physically mail documents to the registrar and then wait for processing and mail return of the documents it now works like this:

When you receive your registration renewal notice from Transport for NSW you will receive the purple/mauve renewal notice and a blank historic declaration form. For CCC NSW members with existing cars on the Historic Vehicles Scheme you do not need to do anything with the declaration form.

Next arrange a Pink Slip safety inspection at your nearest available Authorised Inspection Station (usually a mechanic). Make an appointment with them and for the inspection journey you will need to note this in your existing official log book using one of your 60 days. You must inform the inspector that you need an "old fashioned" pink slip not a new digital one.

After you have received the Pink Slip you need to get it to the Club Plate Registrar. There are several ways to achieve this.

Preferably:

1/ Scan the document on your computer scanner ensuring that the full details of the pink slip are visible (the brake check docket isn't required for the registrar)

or

2/ Take a digital photo of it with your phone ensuring that the full details of the pink slip are visible (the brake check docket isn't required for the registrar)

Then email the scan or photo to historicplates@citroencarclub.org.au

If the above method is not available to you, then you can photograph the pink slip with your smartphone and SMS it to the registrar (Craig Keller) on 0418 484 798 with at least your name in the accompanying text.

If either of these methods is not available to you then please phone Craig on the above number during reasonable hours to discuss alteratives.

Once the pink slip is received a new form with your and your vehicle's details is printed, then the new Pink Slip number details are written on the form which is then signed and stamped with an official club stamp certifying that the vehicle complies as historic under the club's parameters and that you are a current member. A scanned copy of this new form is kept on file and the form is then physically mailed to you as soon as possible - often the same day (the club covers the postage cost). However once it hits the Australia Post mail box the envelopes journey to you is AusPost's responsibility. It is not possible or allowed by Transport for NSW for your new Historic Registration Declaration form to be emailed to you. The form you take to Service NSW must be the original stamped and signed form sent to you by the club plate registrar.

Upon receipt of the signed and stamped form you then need to take the renewal notice, pink slip and form to your nearest Service NSW office and pay the registration renewal fee. During the process you will be issued with a new official log book and a Certificate of Operations. The log book and certificate must be kept in the related vehicle at all times.
